Mike Poff – Senior Pastor
A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Mike graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980 with a Civil Engineering degree. After working eight years as an engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mike felt led to help others get connected to God and to grow spiritually. So, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas for theological and leadership training. Over a twelve year period, he led various ministries for Hope Church in Fort Worth as an associate pastor. After being out of Virginia for nearly 25 years, Mike returned in September 2005 in the role of Cornerstone's Senior Pastor to serve the Warrenton community. Mike and his new wife Anna enjoy running, traveling and learning how to cook.
Josh Hayden – Pastor to Students and Creative Technologies
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Josh moved up and down the east coast, settling into Warrenton in the middle of 8th grade. He graduated from Fauquier High School where he met his wife Shey. Shey is a graduate of Virginia Tech and was a middle school teacher at Marsteller Middle School before the birth of their son Rowan. Josh and Shey have two boys, Rowan (born in 2008) and Eli (born in 2010), and they are a barrel of laughs! Josh graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in English, and also graduated from The John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, VA with a Masters of Divinity. In 2010, Josh also published a book titled Sacred Hope, to help students explore what it looks like to live into the hope God has for their lives. Josh has served at Cornerstone as Youth Pastor since 2004, but has been a member of Cornerstone since its creation in 1996.
Andrea Jaffrey – Ministries Assistant
Andrea Jaffrey is Cornerstone's Ministries Assistant and has been employed at Cornerstone since April 2000. Andrea was born and raised in Fairfax, VA and has a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from Truman State University in Missouri. She and her husband live in the Town of Warrenton.
Elders
Tom Gregorson
A father of four grown children (2 boys and 2 girls), Tom has been married to his wife Cathy for 27 years. Tom grew up in Minnesota (Go Twins & Vikings!) and graduated from the University of Minnesota (go Gophers!) in 1985 with a degree in Economics. Tom and his family moved to Warrenton, VA in June of 1996 and have attended Cornerstone since arriving. Tom and Cathy have both been very active in the church taking on many different roles of responsibility. Tom has served as church Treasurer for Cornerstone for over 10 years. Tom is responsible for Product Strategy and Development in an airline industry organization and in his position, has now traveled to six of the continents in the world. In his free time, Tom enjoys many sports and spending time with his family.
BJ Kimball
BJ grew up in Kentucky and joined the U.S. Army in 1972. BJ met Sheila, his wife, of 33 years, while stationed in Massachusetts. They settled in Virginia with their three daughters after retiring from the Army in 1992, and have been a part of Cornerstone since 2001. BJ has served the church in several roles, presently leading small groups on Saturday and Sunday as well as the Men’s Ministry. His interests include Bible study, reading, and genealogy.
Dave Seidel
Dave grew up in Northern Virginia where his parents were active members in the local church, Centreville Baptist Church. He made the decision to follow Christ at a young age. He was an active member in the youth group involved in mission trips and youth retreats. He later became a youth group leader has he continued to serve after entering the workforce. He also served on church committees responsible for recommending folks for various leadership roles within the church. Dave met his wife Susan early 2000 and married in May of 2001. They have two young children Zachary & Savannah. They started attending Cornerstone Baptist in 2005 and have been active in various small groups. Dave currently serves on the trailer team and attends the men’s Thursday night small group.
Ministry Leaders
Lisa Wells – Cornerstone Kids’ Director
Lisa has lived in Warrenton since 1990, when she graduated from Mary Washington College with a degree in Biology and moved to the area to teach. She taught 7th grade science at Warrenton and Marshall middle schools for ten years while volunteering as a middle and high school Young Life leader. She married her husband, Bob, in 1997, and upon the birth of their first child, Lisa began her adventure as a stay-at-home mom; she and Bob have two children, Abby (10 yrs.) and Sam (8 yrs.). Lisa served as a pre-school teacher in the Cornerstone children’s ministry from 2005 through the Fall of 2010, when she began serving as the Cornerstone Kids’ director. In this position, she oversees the pre-school and grade school programs. Lisa loves music and is an accomplished pianist; she currently works as the accompanist for Fauquier and Kettle Run high school chorus programs. Along with her love for music, she enjoys reading, being a volunteer at her kids’ school, spending time with family and friends, and loves having her nightly popcorn while relaxing with Bob!
Anna Poff – Women’s Ministry
Born and raised in Texas, Anna is the middle of three sisters and found her way to Warrenton by way of marriage to Mike in January 2009. Upon arriving in Warrenton, Anna finished her B.A. in Humanities in May 2009 and graduated from the College at Southwestern in Fort Worth, Texas. Anna serves as Cornerstone’s Women’s Ministry leader along with leading a small group. She loves meeting new people and especially desires to see women walk in the freedom that Christ gives. Anna has run several marathons, 10k’s and 5k’s and is a huge fan of Mexican food.
